Watch Party with Sarie - Join Sarie in the comments of the video from 8pm, Wednesday 11th November
So many of us are walking around carrying an invisible load.
Feeling responsible for how other people feel.
How they react.
Whether they’re okay.
Whether they approve of us.
Whether they make the “right” choice.
Whether things turn out the way we hoped.
And often, we don’t even realise we’re carrying it, because it can look like love. It can look like care. It can look like being a good partner, parent, friend, colleague, helper, or human.
But when we feel responsible for everyone else’s inner world, life can start to feel very heavy.
In this session, Sarie will gently explore where that sense of responsibility comes from, what is truly ours to hold, and what may never have belonged to us in the first place.
We’ll look at the difference between caring deeply and carrying what isn’t ours. Between supporting someone and trying to manage their experience. Between love and control, even when that control comes from the most innocent place.
This isn’t about becoming cold, detached, or uncaring.
It’s about seeing more clearly.
Because when we begin to understand where feelings really come from, we can start to loosen our grip on the idea that we are responsible for creating, fixing, or preventing another person’s experience.
And sometimes, letting go of that responsibility isn’t selfish at all.
It can be the kindest thing for everyone.
